Transferring Files
Customers should drop their files in the "INCOMING" directory only. You will be unable to place the files elsewhere.
Client Support
IT supports connections to the FTP server using a proper FTP client. Internet Explorer is not supported. IE may work for some customers, depending on their firewall and IE configurations. Smart FTP and FileZilla are both good, free use clients.
Notes: you must ensure that your FTP client is in Active mode, as opposed to Passive mode. To change this in FileZilla, click on Edit | Settings | FTP, and select Active mode as the Transfer Mode.
To change this setting in SmartFTP, click on the "PASV" button on the SmartFTP toolbar while connected to a server. Note that in SmartFTP, this change is only active during the current session.
Once you see that the transfer has been completed, please phone or email us at tech@geosoft.com and inform us that the upload is complete. Please ensure that the files you are uploading have a meaningful name in order for us to identify them as yours.
Alternatively, you can use an external method of sending your data to us. Using your web browser, go to www.yousendit.com and use tech@geosoft.com as the "To" address.
