How To: Create multiple maps with different extents from the same map template

Problem/Symptom:
How can I create multiple maps with different extents from the same template?

Environment:
This resolution applies specifically to Oasis Montaj and Target v7.0, but you can create map templates in v6.4.* and v6.3.* as well.

Resolution:

1) Set up a data view and base view in the relevant map template.

2) Scan a GDB or GRD in the data view in the map template and create a map.

3) For each successive data view that you want, go back into the map template and re-define the extents of the data view, then create a new map each time. Please refer to (http://www.geosoft.com/support/faq/2008/04/how-to-create-a-map-template.asp) for more details on map templates.

Alternatively, the user is able to create a map template and a large map that encompasses the complete project data range, and then use Automated Map Sheets.

Otherwise, try creating multiple data views in your map template.
