How To: Import a digitised geologic model to a GMSYS-2D model
Problem/Symptom:
User wants to import a geologic model into GMSYS-2D in order to build a magentic or gravity block model.
Environment:
Applies to all versions of GMSYS-2D Profile Modelling. For use with this module only in 7.x, and 6.x Oasis Montaj.
Resolution:
Navigate to GMSYS > Run CVTGMS to start the file conversion program.
CVTGMS (Convert to GMSYS) is a file conversion utility designed to quickly and easily convert between GM-SYS model files and digitized geologic models, DXF files, and several common geophysical model formats. CVTGMS will import DIG (2D and 3D), DXF, GMA, LCT, SAKI, GeoSec 2D Card Image 7 and GM-SYS model files and export DIG (2D and 3D), DXF, LCT, SAKI, and GM-SYS model files.
If the user does not find the required format supported above, usually the user will be able to export from the relevant modelling package to space-delimited ASCII format, the format GMSYS expects.
To use CVTGMS, go to File > Open and open your model (whatever file format it may be). You can then use to 'Execute' functions to change the model, and then go to File > Save As to save your file as a GMSYS model (*.sur) or other.
