How To: Associate colours and patterns with lithology voxels
Symptom/Problem:
How can I associate my own colors and patterns with the lithology voxel I have created?
Environment:
This resolution only applies to Oasis montaj v7.0 (only with the Drillhole Plotting extension), Target v7.0, and Target for ArcGIS v3.0. The ability to create lithology voxels is a new tool that was introduced for v7.0.
Resolution:
1) You must first create a rock code *.csv file that references all of the colours/patterns that you wish to reflect in your lithology voxel. You can use one of the pre-defined rock code csv files from C:\Program Files\Geosoft\software package\user\csv to guide you. Alternatively, you can use DH-Data > Edit Rock Codes (Oasis Montaj and Target) or Data > Edit Rock Codes (Target for ArcGIS) to interactively create your own rock code csv file.
2) In the DH-Plot > Create Lithology Voxel dialog (3D > Create Lithology Voxel in Target for ArcGIS), you can specify a rock code csv file to use for the lithology voxel. Choose the *.csv file containing the codes that you wish to show on your lithology voxel.
3) Once your lithology voxel is created, the 3D tool will open, underneath or above your Project Explorer (left side of Oasis Montaj/Target window. In Target for ArcGIS, you cannot display the Lithology Voxel until you create a Drillhole 3D map. Once done, the 3D Viewer will open, and you can access the 3D tools from there. On the Voxels tab, click the [Lithology Unit Selection] button:

4) The Lithology Unit Selection dialog will appear where you can view the symbology for the voxel you created, as well as turn on or off different elements using the check boxes under the "Selected" column:
