How To: Change latitude and longitude coordinates from degrees, minutes, seconds to decimal, degrees

Problem/Symptom:
Latitude and longitude coordinates imported into a Geosoft Database are displayed using degrees, minutes, seconds but user would like to view them in decimal degrees.

Environment:
This resolution applies to all version of Oasis montaj, Target and Target for ArcGIS

Resolution
This problem can be simply corrected by changing how the coordinates are displayed in the Geosoft database (GDB). It is recommended that you follow these steps:

1) With the Geosoft database open, right click the latitude channel header and select Edit.
2) Change the Display Format parameter from "Geographic" to "Normal" and press OK.
3) Repeat this process for the longitude channel

NOTE: these steps can also be used to change lat/long coordinates displayed in decimal degrees to degree, minutes, seconds.
