Error Message: "Unable to run C:\~\~_Collar.gd~

Sympton/Problem:
Target for ArcGIS project: error message: "Unable to run C:\~\~_Collar.gd~

Environment:
Attempting to import ascii data in to Target for ArcGIS project

Resolution:
1) On Geosoft Setup tab, select Settings...check your Temporary file directory reads as

C:Program Files\Geosoft\ArcGIS\temp

2) Ensure not running another project at the same time which contains this database. (in another Geosoft product)

3) Click on Target Project| Refresh Project, save your current project and then try import again.

4) Try creating a new project in a new folder, and copy the relevant project files into the folder and import again.

Root Cause:
~/gd~ is a temporary index file, which indicates the temporary file directory has been changed.
