Can I run Geosoft software on a Mac computer?

Symptom/Problem:
I have/I am considering buying a Macintosh computer. Will Geosoft's products run properly with a Mac?

Environment:
This resolution applies to all versions of Geosoft software (Oasis Montaj, Target, and Target for ArcGIS); also Mac Operating System 10.

Resolution:
Officially, we do not support Macintosh products, nor do we test on or recommend them. Geosoft is best used on the Windows platform. This is the platform we test on, and can therefore guarantee compatibility.

Geosoft can be supported on the Mac, but only on Mac Operating System 10. Mac OS10 contains two separate drives: a Mac drive and a Windows drive. Geosoft would have to be run on the Windows drive. Problems may occur when saving files in the OS10; you would therefore have to ensure that all files relating to Geosoft are installed to and saved on the Windows drive.
