How To: Park a Geosoft eLicense and install it on another computer

Problem/Symptom:
I wish to transfer my license to another computer. Both computers are connected to the internet.

Environment:
This applies to all Geosoft products for which a license is required to run.

Resolution:
Oasis montaj provides two easy methods for moving your license from one computer to another; by Parking your license on the Geosoft License Server (internet connection required) or by using the Transfer license option (offline method).

PARK LICENSE

This method requires that the user have access to the Internet. It is the quickest and easiest method.

To park (or uninstall) your license from your computer to the Geosoft license server:

1. Connect to the Internet.
2. On the File menu, select License/Park License. Or go to Start > All Programs > Geosoft > License > Park.
3. The Geosoft License Manager dialog will be displayed. This is a warning message that tells you that parking a license places your license on the Geosoft license server so that it may be installed on a different computer for your own personal use.
4. It then asks you if you are sure you want to park your license? Click the [Yes] button. Your license is uploaded to the Geosoft license server to be downloaded at a later time and Oasis montaj closes. You will also be reminded of your "License Key" at this time, make sure you have it written down.
5. Once the license is Parked, it can be installed on another computer which has Oasis montaj installed. Start the program and you will be prompted to enter your "License Key". Once the "License Key" is entered you can choose to retrieve the license directly by clicking on the [Internet] button.
