How To: Install a Geosoft eLicence through a firewall

Can I install my Geosoft Licence through a firewall?

Environment:
This resolution applies to any licensed product of Geosoft.

Resolution:
Yes, you can install your license through a firewall. If you have a firewall or proxy server setup on your network you can still install your Geosoft License using the Internet. To do this you must have access to your proxy address, which can be an IP address, Resolve name or URL (i.e. 189.101.185.19 ; tech.au ; proxy.geosoft.com) and your proxy port.

If you do not have access to the proxy address and proxy port, contact your local IT department.

If you know your proxy address and port information, on the "Geosoft License Manager" dialog, select [Internet Options]. Set the Use Proxy Server parameter to "yes" or "windows" and specify the "Proxy Address" and "Proxy Port" and click the [OK] button. Enter your 8-digit alphanumeric license key in the "License Key" box and click the [Internet] button. Geosoft's license server will retrieve your license from our Internet server and download it to your computer. All of the software you are licensed for will now be accessible to you.

You can also change the Geosoft license options HTTP style. There are two options, Standard and Compliant. If one doesn't work, try switching to the other style.

Note: the Internet Options dialog can also be reached by going to Start > All Programs > Geosoft > Oasis montaj > License > Options.
