About this release
Oasis montaj 8.1 UXO Update 1 is a scheduled software upgrade available to all maintained UXO Marine customers. This release includes many new features throughout the workflow to enhance the process of working with multi-sensor magnetic and gradiometry data.
In addition to processing transverse gradiometer (TVG) data, you can now work with vertical and longitudinal gradient data such as the Seaquest system, as well as gradiometer array data. Additional target-picking and management tools allow you to automatically select targets from gridded data, and manually edit target lists. This release also includes significant upgrades to the Navigation Correction and Background Removal tools, making them more comprehensive and easier to use. Pitch and roll corrections can now be applied to all sensors in a single pass.

To install this update, you'll need a license for Oasis montaj 8.1 and the UX-Analyze Advanced extension. If you don't have one, contact us and we can help you get set up. The system requirements are the same as for Oasis montaj 8.1
Installing the software
To install this update, you'll need to have Oasis montaj 8.1 installed and then download the resource file from the link at the top of this page. Here's how:
- Click the download button at the top of this page to download the software update resource file.
- Unzip the zip file and save the resource update file (*.geosoft_resource_pack) to the same folder location.
- On the Help menu in Oasis montaj 8.1, click Updates, then click Apply Resource Update.
- In the Manual Resource Update dialog, click the browse button to locate and select the resource updates file (*.geosoft_resource_pack).
- Click Update. If there are no new resources to be updated, a Nothing to Update window informs you the resource pack has no new resources for you (this will happen if it has been previously installed or does not apply to your version). If there are new resources to be updated, the system automatically updates them. When the update is complete, the Update Complete window informs you that the update was successful. Click OK.
- Restart Oasis montaj for the changes to take effect.

Navigation Correction - dialog defaults
Whenever we meet with customers we see how they work with the software on their projects and which settings they use most often. In response to this feedback, we've updated the default settings to match the options that are selected most often, making for a more seamless work experience.
Navigation Correction - Fill options
You now have more flexibility when performing corrections. Correct individual positions using automatically or manually and select either an interpolated or a dummy fill option.
Navigation Correction - Output Map options
You can now define line thickness and symbol sizes, providing you with more control how navigation corrections are displayed on maps.
Analytical Signal or Total GradientCalculate the Analytical Signal or Total Gradient from any combination of measured gradients - transverse horizontal, vertical or longitudinal. Using measured gradients can help reduce noise and produce a cleaner analytical signal.
Highlight or mark one or more anomalies to view the amplitude and wavelength at each location. You can save the results to a text file to review them later. This makes it easy to determine which anomaly features to use when defining filters or picking targets.
Automatically pick targets from grids
You can now select targets faster and more easily with the ability to automatically pick targets by identifying the peaks in gridded data.
Specify multiple filters in a single step. You can now define up to four filters and review parameters in a single dialog.
Displaying an analytical signal grid
It is now easier to display your analytic signal grid on an existing map. When calculating the Analytical Signal from gridded data, you have the option of automatically displaying the resulting grid on an existing map as a colour grid, as a colour-shaded grid, or to not display it at all. You may also display a colour bar for the grid.
Manage targets - automatically merge targets
Automatically merge targets, within a user-defined radius. Best suited for targets identified from gridded data.
Manual target picking and management from gridded data
We have improved the target management workflow, providing you with the ability to manually pick, move, or delete target locations from gridded data.
We've updated the menus to make them easier to use with clearer names, and consistent Single Sensor and Gradiometer Sensor workflows.
Multi-Sensor Gradiometer Positioning
You now have the ability to calculate the position of each individual sensor in a gradiometry array.
You are now able to level any number of sensors and choose which sensor to use as the reference sensor.
Roll, Pitch, and Yaw Positioning
If you have roll, pitch and yaw (heading) sensor data for your gradiometer array, you can can use this data to ensure the sensor is positioned accurately.
Target plotting and labelling
We've made it easier to plot targets and related data. Plot your target symbols and select up to four channels to display. Will also include a legend, indicating what data is being displayed on the map.
