About this Release
The Target for ArcGIS 4.2 update is available to all maintained customers. This version adds some new features for working more quickly and efficiently with drillholes, wireframes, and 3D data. You can now plan a new drillhole interactively simply by clicking on a location in a section or plan map (data frame). Improved vector slicing for sections and plans makes it easier to review a geosurface you've created with the wireframing tools. You are now able to refresh a drillhole project from an acQuire database. If you are working with 3D views, you can now import DXF and GOCAD TSurf files directly into a geosurface file. You can now use the Esri Symbol Selector to set the colour and style attributes of line and polygon features in an interpretation geodatabase. In addition you can also merge one interpretation geodatabase into another.
How to update
Online installs for each product are available through the Check for updates option within the software and from the download link at the top of this page. If you require the upgrade on a DVD, you can request one here.
Target for ArcGIS 4.2 requires ArcGIS 10 (SP5), ArcGIS 10.1 (SP1), or ArcGIS 10.2.1. Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit and 64-bit) is recommended. Windows 8.1 (requires ArcGIS 10.2 or newer), Windows 8 (requires ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 or newer), Windows Vista 32/64 (SP2), and Windows XP (SP3) are also supported. See detailed System Requirements.
Interactive Drillhole Planning on Section and Plan
Merge interpretation geodatabases
Use Esri symbol selector for interpretation geodatabases
You can now access the Esri Symbol Selector to set the colour and style attributes of line and polygon features in an interpretation geodatabase, providing you with more flexibility when choosing outlines, fill colours and patterns.
Improved DXF import in 3D Viewer
You can now import multiple AutoCAD DXF files into a 3D view at once. In addition to importing the DXF files as map groups, you can create a new geosurface using the imported DXF files or add to an existing geosurface file.
Improved GOCAD T-Surface import in 3D Viewer
When importing a GOCAD T-Surface file into the 3D Viewer, you can now import the GOCAD file to a new geosurface, append it to an existing one, or use the previous option to import as map groups in the 3D View. You can also specify whether to invert the Z-axis.
Improved vector slicing for drillhole sections and plans
In addition to slicing a DXF or shapefile, you now have the ability to slice a geosurface in section or plan view. This makes it easy to review a geosurface you've created with the wireframing tools by viewing it from different orientations. You can select multiple vector files and have the option to edit the colour and fill attributes for lines and polygons.
Refresh an acQuire drillhole project
You can now refresh a drillhole project from an acQuire database. When refreshing the data, you have the option to overwrite the drillhole databases or append new drillholes to the project. This enables you to easily refresh your drillhole projects while preserving the existing configuration of any custom data fields.
