Better Understand Your Subsurface Geology

Full Tensor Gravity Gradient inversion is now available in GMSYS-3D gravity and magnetic modeling.

The inversion algorithm (Jorgensen and Kisabeth, 2000) in version 6.4.2 uses any combination of the gravity gradient tensor components, plus magnetic and normal gravity, to constrain the inversion.

Load Seismic Time Sections and Build Models

Using the recently released GM-SYS Profile 6.4.2, you can load seismic time sections and convert Time models to Depth models.

Changes made in the Time window are immediately refelected in the Depth window, and vice versa.

QUICK TIPS

How do I create 3D pdf?

Did you know that you can export 3D subsurface data, allowing others to view and interact with data inside a PDF file?

Step 1
Open a map containing a 3D View in Geosoft Oasis montaj 6.4.2, Target 6.4.2 or Target for ArcGIS 2.2.2.
Activate the 3D Viewer tool by selecting the Map View mode and then double-clicking on the 3D View window.

Step 2
With the 3D Viewer window open, choose an option:

  • Load the 3D menu and select Export to PDF
  • Right-click in the 3D Viewer window and select Export to PDF

Tip: The current display in the Geosoft 3D viewer becomes the default view. Create additional 3D views with different viewing angles or zoom levels in Adobe Acrobat.

Step 3
View the 3D interactive 3D PDF in Adobe Reader 8.1, e-mail it to a colleague, or add it to your presentation or report.

New Global Data Sets on Geosoft DAP

Did you know that data on the Geosoft DAP server is available to all explorers?

In 2007, Geosoft added NASA SRTM high resolution topographic elevation data to the DAP server. This dataset provides easy access to 90 metre grid resolution over most of the explorable world, which is why it became the most frequently downloaded DAP dataset!

Recently, we added other global data sets for explorers:

  • Grace Gravity Model 02 - Global Earth Gravity Model
  • WDMAM Grid – World Digital Magnetic Anomaly Map
  • SRTM30 Plus – SRTM World Topography and Bathymetry
