Geosoft Releases Oasis montaj Version 6.0

Major software release features enhanced usability, interface and map editing functionality for power users

Toronto, ON - May 6, 2004 - Geosoft, a leading provider of exploration and earth science mapping software, announced today the new release of their core software for mapping and processing, Oasis montaj 6.0.

Electronic Licensing and Project Explorer among long list of new features

Oasis montaj 6.0 includes a new eLicensing model and project explorer functionality for tracking and organizing tools and data. The release also provides a number of enhancements to map editing capabilities, including unlimited undo/redo, layer transparency and polygon and line editing improvements.   

Advanced gridding added to core system

With this release, the core Oasis montaj mapping and processing software has been reconfigured to include Geosoft’s full library of gridding algorithms, and advanced gridding utilities, creating a strong, stand-alone mapping system for power users. 

New and enhanced Oasis montaj extensions

Geosoft’s broad range of specialized processing and advanced analysis tools have also been reconfigured into distinct montaj extensions with enhanced capabilities. Extensions range from geophysics, geochemistry and drill hole plotting through to Geophysical Levelling, Gravity/Magnetic Interpretation, Induced Polarization and UX-Detect.

Broad Earth Science Application

Over the years, Oasis montaj has evolved to meet industry needs for improved manipulation and visualization of multidisciplinary data, and interoperability with other mapping applications and GIS software.

Oasis montaj’s power in providing rapid assessment and dynamic visualization of large geoscientific datasets has led the way in solving large data challenges in mineral and oil and gas exploration, as well as in environmental, archaeological, marine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) investigations.
