montaj Extension Induced Polarization

The Induced Polarization extension provides a complete solution for working with induced polarization (IP) data. Import IP instrument data and perform quality control. Process and grid the data, then view it in 2D sections and 3D views. The IP workflow supports time and frequency domain data reduction, as well as the various electrode configurations.

The Induced Polarization (IP) extension is designed for both contractors and in-house geophysicists. Perform a variety of tasks on your IP data including import, quality control, processing, gridding, geo-referencing and presenting data from both time and frequency domain surveys.

Import your data in a variety of formats, including: Zonge, Iris, Scintrex, Phoenix, GDD and Geosoft. The supported electrode configurations are dipole-dipole, pole-dipole, pole-pole, or gradient surveys.  Once the data are imported, the IP extension calculates the apparent resistivity, metal factor, self-potential, and average IP.

The interactive quality control tool is linked in real-time to the IP database and pseudo-sections. The quality control tool enables you to process duplicates, edit and inspect then data. Using the live link you can update the database and pseudo-section as you proceed through each line in the database. 

If you have made changes to the database while performing quality control procedures, you can pull the data and see the changes. Finally, all duplicates of the row you are inspecting are extracted and tabulated for your further convenience. You can then apply any of the various Fraser filters.

Plot your IP data as a stacked 2D pseudosection or gridded sections or colour-coded symbols in a georeferenced 3D view. The symbol plot method enables you to easily view the georeferenced pseudosection in the 3D view along with other layers or data types.

The IP extension provides the ability to export the Resistivity and IP data to third-party formats for modelling, and import the results back into the Oasis montaj workspace.
