Easy data sharing

User-friendly wizards enable you to import or export data using industry-standard data formats, including ASCII, ODBC, LAS, acQuire, ArcGIS, Microstation and Surpac. The current release of Target has added support of Datamine™ file formats to the many other formats it supports.  Data validation on import ensures the integrity of any sub-surface information generated. Interpretations or other vector map layers can be exported for use in mine planning applications. The Geosoft voxel (3D grid) engine allows for the import of ASCII XYZ, GoCAD™ and UBC datasets as well as Datamine™ block models.

The clean Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) and sensible default settings make it easy to create and recreate drillhole sections and plans in minutes. Visualize thousands of drillholes at a time. Save and share templates with others.

3D drillhole visualization

Target showcases the latest three dimensional visualization technology to meet the growing requirements within mineral exploration to represent and visualize surface and subsurface 3D data.

Quickly create and customize 3D views of grids and profile data using interactive tab dialogues. The easy-to-use 3D subsurface visualization tool permits quick data integration from multiple sources. It combines surfaces, grids, profile data, drill data and geophysical models to visualize spatial relationships. Enhanced 3D support includes additional mine planning formats and the ability to use Vertical Exaggeration in 3D views.

Surface mapping

Function-rich gridding routines and easy-to-use design wizards simplify the creation of grids and contour maps. Use point sample datasets (streams, soils, rocks, geophysical data) from a variety of raw data sources (ASCII, Excel, Access, and acQuire), to create multiple data views on a single map. Use CAD drawing tools to add interpretations to all maps. They allow a user to annotate and define areas of interest onto new layers in the map view.

Surface and drillhole data integration

Combine drillhole data with all other surface data and information to create detailed, integrated surface and subsurface maps.

Strip log feature to improve management and visualization

Use the strip log feature to create scaled graphical strip log displays of individual holes, selected holes, or the entire drillhole project. Utilize up to 32 graphical fields to display down hole data. Further process data onscreen with interactive data compositing to generate weighted mean average intersection calculations. You can plot these calculations directly onto the log, save to file and then incorporate them in tabular reports.

Professional map production

Use the full featured dynamic contouring algorithm with gradient feathering and extensive labeling control to create professional quality presentation results. Work from a standard template or interactively create customized map templates, define titles, text, logos and colour bars, and include background graphics or images in each view.  Quickly create multiple and varied types of maps, including gridded maps, surface maps, posted value maps, and sub-location maps. Templates are fully scriptable for power users.
