GM-SYS 3D Model ViewingGM-SYS 3D enables the user to create blocks with properties that are either uniform or vary internally. Variance can be based on depth or lateral position. Thus, the user can accurately depict the composition irregularities that exist in blocks in the real world.
Lateral property variance is controlled by the upper surface grid of each block. Each cell of the block's upper surface grid can be assigned a different property. That property is used, within the limits of the cell, for the entire depth of the block. The cell size of all grids in a model is determined by the model's grid index which can be set to any size desired by the user, allowing for fine property gradation. Lateral property variance enables the user to depict both sharp contrasts, such as intrusions into blocks, and gradual property variance without having to create numerous separate blocks. < back | Block Properties > |

Depth
based property variance is controlled by a depth table. The user can assign
different property values to different depths within a block, creating
discrete property "layers" within the block. This is extremely useful when
depicting the pressure induced density change that occurs in most blocks as
a function of depth.
