GM-SYS 3D InversionInversion is essential in 3D modeling, in order to rapidly sort through the vast number of possible models. The inversion tools included in GM-SYS 3D are both flexible and precise enough to give the user complete control over the inversion process.
Constrain an inversion, so that only the variables in question are altered and only within desired limits. Limit the degree of change for geometry, density or susceptibility. In addition, points, lines, polylines and polygons on a block surface can all be held constant, while the rest of the surface geometry is allowed to change. GM-SYS 3D smooths the transition between the inverted areas and constant areas with a "roll off" curve that extends for a distance determined by the user. Choose to hold densities and/or susceptibilities of particular portions of blocks constant while the properties of the rest of the block are allowed to vary. The above features enable you to use known or suspected constants from boreholes, seismic horizons and other sources to constrain your inversion and more quickly produce superior results. The entire process is under the complete control of the user who can choose to accept of reject proposed changes at any step of the process. < back |

Inversion
is performed on one block at a time, in order to reduce the number of
variables and thus produce more useful results. Each block may be inverted
on geometry, density or susceptibility. The user may invert on both gravity
and magnetics simultaneously and weight the inversion towards either
variable. Inversion may be performed on internal property variance as well,
either laterality or by depth.
