GM-SYS Profile ModellingThe GM-SYS Profile Modelling extension to Oasis montaj enables you to create a geologic model and test its accuracy by comparing the model's gravity and magnetic response to observed measurements.
Other features include the ability to read and calculate magnetic gradients along a horizontal axis and along a vertical axis. It has a full cross-hair cursor which extends horizontally and vertically across the model, making it easier to align items. Users can bring up to 15 horizons from Geosoft database or grid files into GM-SYS. GM-SYS's user-friendly and feature-rich interface makes the data modelling process fast and easy and provides many opportunities to constrain modelling variables. Model response data is detailed and complete. Both gravity and magnetic responses are calculated for the same geologic model. The responses of individual blocks may also be displayed. Magnetic calculations include both induced and remanant components. Intermediate and Advanced options are available that provide greater flexibility of model geometry, speed the data modelling process, and further constrain modelling variables. The GM-SYS Lab license is available as part of Geosoft's Education Program and contains all the features of the GM-SYS Advanced Profile Modelling except that models are limited to 7 bodies and 35 observation/calculation points. GM-SYS Profile Modelling Basic includes:Quickly and easily explore a vast array of model possibilitiesScroll through a range of density, susceptibility, remanent magnetization, remanent inclination, or remanent declination for a block. The model response continuously changes in real-time as the block is changed. The instant feedback enables you to quickly test a range of alternative solutions, greatly speeding the interpretation process. View large amounts of information simultaneouslyBoth gravity and magnetic response curves can be displayed with both plan view (at any depth) and cross-section views simultaneously. Blocks can be color scaled by density, susceptibility, remanent magnetization, or customized. Block and surface data can be displayed in spreadsheets enabling quick comparison and alteration of block properties. Well markers and configurable LAS Well files can be shown on the model to help you constrain your model. You can also add symbols to represent depth-picks, seismic horizons, measured strike and dip, ect as overlay. Use GM-SYS with Oasis montaj to create a fast, well- constrained and presentable interpretationImport from ASCII files, enter data manually, or extract data interactively from Oasis montaj. Active links to your processing software enable your model coordinates to be placed in the real world, models to be overlaid in the plan view on your grid, and the cursor to track in your model and grid simultaneously. XYZ coordinates can be exported for easy importing into GM-SYS 3D, seismic models, and other programs. Sophisticated vector-postscript drivers export to common graphics applications such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw. Output is clean and layered allowing for easy selection and editing. New in release 7.2!Velocity/Density conversionThis new capability enables the easy conversion between density and velocity allowing you to select from ten of the most commonly-used, published relationships. Seismic interpreters commonly provide velocity models to potential-field professionals as an exchange format. Velocity information is not directly useful in modelling, but must be converted to density using known relationships between the parameters. Updated User InterfaceThe user-interface has been rewritten to improve workflow, extensibility, and efficiency. The new interface is comfortably familiar with a new look-and-feel: new icons and cleaner organization for the toolbars and the floating Action toolbar is now dockable. Access IGRFPT.GXIGRFPT.GX calculates the Geomagnetic Reference Field for a specific location and date. This information is required to calculate the magnetic response of a model. IGRFPT.GX replaces the functionality previously provided by the NGRF.exe utility. The upgraded IGRFPT.GX is a more robust implementation and is now easily accessible from the GM-SYS Profile menu. Enhanced Block SpreadsheetWe've added new functionality to the Block Spreadsheet making it easier to do quality control of your model. You can sort the spreadsheet by any block parameter (e.g. Block Name or density), making it much easier to compare the properties of a block. Improved cut/paste functionality means you can also copy one or more properties from a block and paste those properties into any other block(s).
