Red Pine Exploration and Nighthawk Gold select MX Deposit for managing their drill logs and results

Drilling on Wawa Gold Project

Red Pine Exploration and Nighthawk Gold are among the exploration companies that have recently selected MX Deposit for managing their drill logs and results. A new Earth Explorer article looks at some of the challenges they face in managing their drilling data, and key factors in choosing their solution.

Red Pine subscribed to MX Deposit to support a 10,000-metre drill program on the Wawa Gold project this spring. The flexibility of the software and subscription model, and the fact that they don’t have to hire extra staff to manage the software were major advantages for Red Pine, according to data manager Eric Steffler. They also liked the timely manner in which changes could be made and implemented in the field.

Nighthawk Gold is using MX Deposit to manage data from its drilling program on the Colomac gold project and other priority gold targets within its regional land package in the Northwest Territories. Real-time collaboration was an important attribute for Nighthawk Gold, said Lorraine Dupuis, who manages the company’s geological modelling and GIS applications. Trust also played a role in Nighthawk’s decision to try MX Deposit. They valued having local support by people with proven expertise in database management who could guide them with best practices for collecting data.

Launched by Minalytix and Geosoft earlier this year, MX Deposit is subscription software for drill hole and sample data management that can be accessed from anywhere, adheres to industry standards, and encourages real-time collaboration.
