Geosoft Latinoamerica celebrates 20 years of partnership with customers
Geosoft Latinoamerica celebrated its 20th anniversary in March 2015 with customers at the Jockey Club in Rio de Janeiro.
Geosoft’s presence in Brazil dates back to 1985. The Latinoamerica office was established in 1995 to meet customer demand for local support and expertise. Today, the team serves the needs of more than 1,100 customers in Latin America across multiple industry sectors, including mineral exploration, energy, government and education.
“This has been a shared journey,” says Ana Cristina Chaves, Managing Director of Geosoft Latinoamerica. “It is rewarding to see continued growth and adoption of Geosoft technology among the region’s leading exploration companies and government geological surveys. We consider our biggest success to be the strong relationships established over this time. Our service delivery and interaction with customers have, in many cases, led to valued partnerships.”
Outside of Geosoft’s headquarters in North America, Latinoamerica is the largest office among the company’s six offices worldwide. Highlights and milestones of the past twenty years include the following:
- Geosoft Latinoamerica is proud to have 7 of the 15 geological surveys in South America as customers, supporting their mission to generate geological knowledge and promote regional mineral exploration.
- Since 2000, five agents have joined the Latinoamerica team, expanding Geosoft’s reach within Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Mexico.
- In 2003, Geosoft Latinoamerica implemented their first enterprise Exploration Information Management Solution (EIMS) in partnership with Vale S.A. Since then, the team has contributed to more than 16 EIMS deployments, developing extensive expertise in data service delivery.
- Geosoft’s cloud-powered VOXI Earth Modelling was introduced to customers in Latin America in 2012. Today more than 20 clients are using VOXI Earth Modelling and Magnetization Vector Inversion in Latin America as an important part of their exploration programs.
