Find out how we can help you do more with your data at the PDAC 2015. Stop by Geosoft booth #931 to address your technical and software questions, or consult with us on your specific exploration challenges.

Explorer Speaker Series

New this year at the PDAC, Geosoft is hosting a line-up of explorer presentations that share examples of how to maximize the value of data and technology to deepen insight, prioritize opportunities and select the best drill targets. Hear about collaborative and data-driven approaches for improving exploration effectiveness.

3:00 pm
Booth 931 Target compilation and modelling of San Fernando Mine, Cuba
Paul Stacey - President and Founder, MapIT
A digital compilation of historic hardcopy and digital data dating back to the 1950’s from the San Fernando massive sulphide deposit in Cuba was completed. The goal was to generate an updated 43-101 resource estimate on a deposit that had not seen any mining activity since 1963. A database was built of all historic drilling, mine plans and sections. These data were validated and then the geology and mineralization modelled creating a framework for resource estimation.
4:00 pm
Booth 931 Constrained magnetization vector inversion used to improve the geological model of a kimberlite at the Chidliak project, Baffin Island, Canada
Sean Walker - Senior Geophysicist, Campbell & Walker Geophysics Ltd.
As part of continued subsurface exploration of a sparsely drilled kimberlite with potentially complex internal geology, Peregrine (100% owner of the Chidliak project) commissioned a geophysical investigation by the two senior authors. This talk presents a detailed review of the methodology and results.
3:00 pm
Booth 931 Application of Geosoft Oasis montaj processing software to modern day discovery - Colorado Resources Ltd. - North Rok Deposit
Alex Walcott - Geophysicist, Peter E. Walcott & Associates Limited.
This talk will discuss how Geosoft Oasis montaj software was employed throughout Colorado Resources Ltd. – North Rok Deposit discovery, and how it was used through the various stages of exploration covering aspects of map preparation, geochemical, geophysical processing and modelling, and resource modelling preparation.
4:00 pm
Booth 931 Harvest time, reaping the rewards of data organization
Mike McClelland - Director, Land Tenure & Geospatial Information, Cameco Corp.
Cameco had a goal of data management so efficient that they would be able to spend an extra day per week looking for mines rather than searching for data. This talk will discuss how they were able to effectively organize, standardize and make their exploration data more accessible via a common web interface – saving days formerly spent trying to find, massage and manipulate data.

Geosoft Booth Presentations

Daily presentations will demonstrate how you can generate more accurate 3D exploration models with Geosoft’s 3D geology workflows and geophysical inversion modelling techniques.

Sunday, Monday & Tuesday
11:30 am
Booth 931 Drillhole exploration workflows in Target for ArcGIS
Find out how you can work with drillhole data, from planning to 3D visualization, and generation of geological models. See how drillhole data can be integrated with other exploration data and how various geological interpretation workflows are applied to different stage exploration projects.
Monday & Tuesday
2:00 pm
Booth 931 VOXI Earth Modelling: Building integrated exploration models with geology and geophysics
This presentation will show the impact of constraining geophysical inversions with simple and complex geological models. We will highlight 2 exploration examples where geological information was applied to gain additional insight from geophysical inversion using VOXI.
Monday & Tuesday
2:30 pm
Booth 931 Introducing VOXI-EM
This presentation will introduce the inversion of frequency-domain EM data using VOXI Earth Modelling.
3:00 pm
Monday & Tuesday
1:30 pm
Booth 931 Improving exploration targeting by integrating all your geospatial data
A presentation to show how Geosoft Technology allows specialists to share and use various types of geospatial data including remote sensing, geochemical, geophysical and geological; and create more integrated models for improved exploration targeting.
