Ash Johnson, Geosoft VP of Global Business, will be holding a workshop on Geophysical Filtering for Geological Mapping, during the 39th Annual Convention, Seminar and Exhibition of AEG.
This workshop will aim to take the participants through the principles and practice of filtering gridded gravity and magnetic data in order to enhance and improve geological interpretation. The workshop will cover the underlying mathematical concepts of space and Fourier domain filtering and then examine the main considerations in preparing your grids for filtering. We will run through the most commonly used filters, looking at how each relates to our data, and how each can be used to enhance a specific aspect of the interpretation.
The workshop aims to improve understanding of how, when and why to use the most common filters when interpreting potential field data.
