Our Career Development Strategy
At Geosoft, we know that the future is coming fast – and we're ready for it. We work with each of our people to develop career paths and implement training plans to realize each employee's full potential. Our people are currently attending international conferences, working on under- and post-graduate degrees, learning new languages, building on their business and software skills and cross-training on partner products.
Each year, we hold internal Geosoft conferences for specific teams at locations across the globe where our international teams have the opportunity to spend time brainstorming and sharing experiences and skill sets. We keep up the training momentum even over lunch with our "Bag A Geo" program - lunchtime brown bag sessions where any employee can share their expertise on a subject or current project.
We strive to keep the lines of communication open across all levels at Geosoft through a number of initiatives – quarterly Town Hall meetings which are led by our CEO, Tim Dobush and videotaped for the benefit of all employees, internal team and employee engagement surveys, a formal performance evaluation process and regular team meetings and lunches… even our daily coffee runs and cookie times provide a great chance to share ideas with members of other teams.
And speaking of ideas, a recent initiative at Geosoft is an increased focus on innovation – we regard innovation as a core component to our growth strategy. Beginning in 2007, we have set a company wide target of 5% of total employee time for innovative activities. We encourage new ideas from everyone at all levels.

Our Work/Life Balance
We have an exceptionally talented, highly creative and energetic team and we are proud of the flexible workplace we have shaped to match their passion and enthusiasm. Our senior leadership team and managers are focused on providing a supportive culture of relaxed energy. This includes casual dress, working from home and flex-time schedules. We understand that people do their best work when they feel supported and valued and we work to create that environment for everyone.
Our people are respected for their contributions, for the remarkable work they do everyday, but also for the remarkable people they are. Our teams include software developers and trainers, administrators and IT specialists, account executives and marketing strategists, but our people are also artists and musicians, snowboarders and cyclists, surfers and hockey players. We value them not only for their fierce dedication to their work but also for their enjoyment of life outside their work.
