Job Summary
The Technical Analyst, Geology or Geophysics will be another important geoscientific resource within the Latin American region, responsible for internal and external training, developing resource material and providing related sales support services to the Business Team as required.
Job Responsibilities
Technical Account Management: Applications and Global Solutions Group:
- Manage operational relationships with designated clients.
- Act as in-house expert of the client’s operational environment, quickly understanding and dealing with client’s requirements or defect reports.
- Communicate with clients on issues, releases and deployments to ensure optimal satisfaction with client response and support.
- Provide an excellent customer experience for all accounts, by anticipating and resolving client issues in a manner that exceeds expectations
- Communicate regularly with clients to evaluate satisfaction and proactively identify upcoming needs
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to integrate into clients’ IT Departments, becoming a trusted advisor and potentially sitting on clients’ Change Review Boards and other process bodies.
Business Support: Applications and Global Solutions Group:
- Provide sales assistance to regional Account Executives in the form of software demonstrations, client visits and relationship building.
- Accompany regional Account Executives to client sites, providing technical expertise and support as directed by the Technical Manager.
- Assist the Global Solutions Group to manage client relationships in a proactive manner, gaining an understanding of the full business and technical relationship in order to ensure client satisfaction.
- Forward potential business opportunities that arise from client contact to the appropriate Account Executive.
Training Services: Applications and Global Solutions Group:
- Coordinate and complete high quality demonstrations and training, primarily within Brasil and occasionally abroad, using existing training materials and tailoring sessions to meet the needs of the clients involved.
- Provide dynamic, real world examples of the relevant software features to clients, maximizing learning objectives and increasing their knowledge base.
- Communicate client feedback, progress and future opportunities to the Business teams post-training in the form of reports, and forward these reports to the appropriate team members via the CRM.
- Provide internal technical training on new releases and new products or enhancements as required.
- Assist with the creation of technical notes and the development of training materials for global clients as required.
- Act as another regional Technical Contact for high end support of Applications and GSG Clients.
- Coordinate with Corporate Technical support to ensure customer satisfaction within the region is being maintained.
Corporate Services Team:
- Work with the corporate Services team reporting to the VP of Services acting as SME in the required areas.
- Support the Global Technical team in other regional training and services when required by the training coordinator.
Other Job Information
The position of Technical Analyst requires exceptional customer service and communication skills both in working with internal teams and within Geosoft’s diverse client base. The Technical Analyst must remain current on our commercial software developments and on our third party partner products. As well, the Technical Analyst must remain current on internal custom software developments. Where appropriate, the Technical Analyst will be involved in the delivery of technical content to the Marketing team, to assist in the generation of case studies and technical marketing and communications material. Travel is an integral part of this role. The expectation is that the Technical Analyst will be required to travel between 35% and 50% of the year.
Job Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
- A degree or diploma in geology or geophysics is required.
- A minimum of two years experience in the field of Mineral Exploration is required.
- Training experience would be an asset
- Experience with Geosoft or partner software would be an asset.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
- Ability to gain in depth understanding and operating knowledge of Geosoft’s product line, with a strong emphasis on Applications solutions is required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information.
- Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

- Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical presentations to diverse audiences.
- Ability to actively listen and respond to questions from trainees in a manner that fosters understanding.
- Highly developed, professional and friendly customer service orientation.
